How to Hide PHP Version

To hide the PHP version to remote requests in order not to disclose undesirable information and to suppress the PHP banner X-Powered-By, locate the php.ini file and the the line containing “expose_php = On” and set it to Off:

expose_php = Off

then restart Apache. This will prevent remote hosts to easily see that you have PHP installed on the system and what version you are running.
