How to Hide Apache Version

To hide Apache version to remote requests, two settings in Apache’s configurations will have to be adjusted ServerTokens and ServerSignature. The Apache server banner can provide too much valuable information, such as what version of Apache we are running, what modules, vulnerabilities, and even the operating system.

In order to provide the minimal information set the ServerTokens and ServerSignature settings in the main Apache configuration (httpd.conf) to:

ServerTokens ProductOnly
ServerSignature Off

If you are using cPanel/WHM, these settings can be adjusted in WHM >> Service Configuration >> Apache Configuration >> Global Configuration.

Hope this helps!
